Jeremy Clarkson, 59, appeared to be unimpressed when he was branded a “joke” by an aggrieved Twitter user yesterday. The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host was tweeted by a viewer who slated his presenting skills. They also suggested the TV personality was the “worst example of pale privilege”. The Twitter user fumed: “@JeremyClarkson you are a joke, worst example of pale privilege I ever saw.
You aren’t even an entertaining presenter, just roll over already.”
In spite of the vicious remark, Jeremy opted to respond with a witty retort on the social media platform.
The Grand Tour favourite simply replied in view of his 7.2 million followers: “Anything else?”
Fans took to the comments section of the exchange between Jeremy and the Twitter user to share their thoughts.
One person sarcastically wrote back: “Well she seems nice.”
Another added: “Wash your mouth out… Jezza is very entertaining!!”
“There has never been a better entertainer than @JeremyClarkson, the great,” a third fan agreed.
A fourth person then questioned: “Pale privilege???”
Jeremy’s response to the Twitter user comes after he opened up about the regal inspiration behind his new healthy lifestyle. The former Top Gear presenter dropped an impressive two stone in weight last year by maintaining a more nutritious diet. However, the star recently admitted he has been staying away from exercise as it would be “unseemly”.
Citing Queen Elizabeth II as the reason behind his avoidance of working out, Jeremy told The Sun: “No. No, that would be unseemly. “The Queen doesn’t go to the gym and she doesn’t run and she’s 93 and she’s all right.”Explaining his suggestion, Jeremy added: “Apparently she only has a forkful, she only has a tiny bit, that’s what I’ve heard. “She’ll sit down and just have one little bit of mousse and bit of a lettuce leaf.”
Revealing his lunch of choice to the publication, Jeremy continued: “I had salad for lunch and water — well, I had water because you lot were coming.“But I had a salad nicoise and a glass of water. I lost two stone last year.”
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
