Diablo 4’s new Sorcerer trailer has the titular character putting Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero out of a job.

Let’s face it, why freeze just one person when, as the Diablo 4’s Sorcerer does, you can ice a whole room up at once? Sure, there aren’t any robot ninjas in sight but that’s still a really, really impressive party trick.

That’s not the only sorcery-related skill that this new trailer shows off. She can follow up her enemy-freezing attacks with a flame blast, adding injury to injury. The Sorcerer also has a neat line in teleportation, which should prove handy if you’re at risk of being overwhelmed.

She (you can choose your in-game gender) can also summon dragon heads from the ground, though Liu Kang might want to look into legal action over that one. It’s the second character trailer with the first, the Rogue trailer, dropping about a week ago.

This action RPG had an open beta in March and we were pretty impressed by what we saw, including its couch co-op elements. So we’re looking forward to testing out some of these cool powers when the final version of the game arrives in June.

Could there be an additional beta between now and then? It’s possible, but we rather doubt it. Though developer Blizzard may well end up tweeking the game based on post-launch feedback.
