Mel Gibson's lookalike son Milo followed in famous dad's acting footsteps
Hollywood actor Mel Gibson turns 67 years old today (January 3) - but did you know that his lookalike son is also following in his footsteps as an actor?Milo Gibson, 32, is the star of films including Hackshaw Ridge and Under The Stadium Lights, and is one of six children that dad Mel shares with ex-wife Robyn Moore, and one of nine siblings in total.The actor is a lookalike for his Lethal Weapon and Mad Max star dad, and it seems that he has also inherited his passion for performance too after visiting film sets with Mel growing up.READ MORE: Beatles' John Lennon to Phil Collins - music mega-stars who had famous musician kids However, acting was not always on the cards, with Milo revealing to W Magazine that he tried a few different jobs including working as a masseuse and as an electrician, before trying his hand at acting.
He said: "We didn’t grow up in the Hollywood lifestyle clique."I basically did everything other than going into the career of acting; I wanted to do more of a blue-collar job that involved real people.However, he added about an acting career: "When you’re growing up and you’re not pushed in a direction, it makes you feel like if you do go in that direction, it might not be okay.
Promoted Stories But as I got older, I realized that it was my life, and I wanted to act because I love it."Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Milo revealed that he and his brother Louis, who is now a director, would often make home videos growing up and that he did not want to regret not acting.
He said: "One day I was kind of like, you know, I don’t want to be 60 years old and regret not going for it — I think a lot of people regret a lot of things in life — and I didn’t want to be one of those people."
Milo later entered the world of acting in 2016, after studying drama in Santa Monica, California.He soon garnered critical acclaim for his role as Lucky Ford in the war film Hackshaw Ridge, which was directed by dad Mel and starred Andrew Garfield, Vince Vaughn and Teresa Palmer.From there, Milo has appeared in films including The Outpost, as well as playing Al Capone in Gangster Land and Chad Mitchell in Under The Stadium Lights.
