Lough Tay is a small but scenic lake set on private property in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. The lake lies between the mountains of Djouce and Luggala. Some scenes from the series were shot on the shores of the Lake Poulaphouca Reservoir is commonly known as the Blessington Lakes. Several boat scenes were shot there. The Poulaphouca waterfall is on its southwestern end where the water exits the lake. Wicklow is the county town of County Wicklow in Ireland. Over the years of shooting, spotting Vikings’ Long ships along the Wicklow Coast is common and they are placed in between the Black Castle in Wicklow Town and Brittas Bay.
